Hello <:firstname:>!
There was no newsletter last week because, well because there wasn't really enough news! But I'm back this week in fine style with all sorts of bits and pieces for you from the world of Erasure! Here you go...
VINCE CLARKE
INTERVIEW FOR THE RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY
This is something that Vince Clarke's new website
alerted me to last week, an audio
interview with Vince in which he talks about all stages of his career to
date and comments on various key tracks from Depeche Mode, Yazoo and Erasure.
Fascinating stuff and well worth a listen!
ANDY BELL
INTERVIEW IN PASSPORT MAGAZINE
Andy has been interviewed about his travel experiences for the Passport
Magazine website. It's very loosely an interview about 'Total Pop!' (which
does get a brief mention!), but it mostly about Andy's travel experiences and
includes a number of his top travel tips. Another one that's worth a read
when you have a moment!
ERASURE.CLUB
- TRACKLISTING CHANGE
Unfortunately due to legal clearance issues Mute are unable to include the Winnie
Cooper Mix of Who Needs Love (Like That) on the forthcoming Erasure.Club EP
due on August 10th however the release will still feature the other six remixes
as planned. You can see the updated tracklisting in the news section at ErasureInfo.com.
ERASURE
FAN SURVEY - THE RESULTS
Lots of people have asked me what sort of results the recent Fan Survey came
up with so I thought it might be interesting to share the results with you all.
If you remember, the survey was set up to find out what you all consider most
the important elements to include in future special edition album releases.
So what did you want to see? A staggering number of participants (over 90% in fact) said they would be interested in seeing Unreleased & Archive Material featured on any deluxe album editions, making that the runaway favourite across the poll results. The inclusion of DVD & Visual Elements came in second, followed by New Remixes then Deluxe Packaging in third and fourth place and 5:1 Audio bringing up the rear. Interesting stuff I think, I know Mute were very interested to hear the results and to read all your comments, and thank you again to everyone who took part in the survey!
SEARCHING
FOR THE INNOCENTS... AN ERASURE BLOG
You may remember from my last newsletter that in the lead-up to the 21st anniversary
release of The Innocents I have set myself the task of tracking down and interviewing
everyone who worked on the original album, and recording the process via a dedicated
blog.
The story is continuing in the new Blog
section at ErasureInfo.com and many thanks to everyone who has been in touch
to tell me how much they are enjoying my efforts!
Have a great weekend!
Cheers
Richard
